In a hardwire system there is a physical connection using wire between the main part of the security system and the sensors, keypads and sirens. In a partially wireless system the communication between the sensors and control are done by radio frequency (RF) and hence there is no physical connection between these devices. There is however a physical connection between the Keypads, sirens and main unit. In a completely wireless system, communication between all devices and the main unit is via radio frequency. What is better is dictated by the customers preference and expense. In a preconstruction project, wires can be run in the walls to conceal them. In a retrofit installation, these wires typically will have to be run at the surface which may represent an unacceptable option to some customers. In this case we advise that the customer consider either a partially wired or completely wireless system which may be more expensive due to higher equipment cost. |
